Design, Construction, Maintenance

At every stage of a project, infrastructure Access and Fall Protection carries a high level of risk for workers. Lack of well thought out procedures, systems, equipment, training, and communication can have disastrous results.

Complex and unique structural designs present an ever-increasing challenge for safe access. As a group, building maintenance units (BMU), bridge travelling platforms, rescue platforms and other similar types of equipment play a critical role as part of a long-term strategy in the ability to safely build and maintain a wide variety of structures.

From project concept through design, construction, and ongoing maintenance, protecting personnel requires careful integration between clients, employees, safety consultants and equipment providers. Addressing issues at the earliest stages of a project protects workers and owners in terms of safety and cost.

When addressing complex safety challenges, our services are not based solely on pre-established “best-practices”, but incorporate practical, real world and on -the-ground experiences. We provide clients with essential expertise in assessing risk, identifying, and managing qualified resources and ensuring that a dynamic process of effective safety is governed and maintained by a comprehensive, practical, and fully integrated Access & Fall Protection Safety Program.

Key Benefits

Our advisory and management services begin at the early design phase and continue through to vendor selection, equipment turnover, commissioning, and training and if required, include unbiased and impartial mediation in the event of dispute.

removes technical coordination for access issues from your core function, allowing you to focus on softer design issues

provides early, accurate information on systems to eliminate redesign

reduces duplication of efforts and provides reduction in risk to change orders

FPP & IAOP™ Evaluation

The core purpose of fall prevention and fall protection (FPP) is to stop people from falling.

Standard FPP training, audits, inspections and corporate audit and evaluation programs are fragmented and lack a global overview and process which integrates the various components into an overall interactive observation process that can be delivered in a timely fashion. These programs have become exclusive of each other, leaving a gap which exposes workers, employers, safety directors and owners to risks in the form of injuries, deaths and subsequent fines, legal actions, loss of business, loss of reputation and other losses.

Rauch’s IAOP™ evaluation (Infrastructure Access Observation Program), incorporates a global view of FPP safety, combining standards with practical hands-on experience. Rauch’s IAOP™ is designed to provide a current and objective, outside evaluation of a company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Major Accident Prevention Policy (MAPP) as it relates to the areas FPP and to identify any potential areas of incompleteness which may pose a risk to employers or employees as well as to identify any subsequent areas of improvement and to incorporate these results into future inspections and audits.
